I turned this in as a book.

Time Period: 16th century
Place: Egypt
Theme: Gypsy Gold

We drew a time, place, and a theme from a basket and had to combine all the elements to design an evening wear piece.

Fabric swatches go in the right bottom corner of the front view.

There are also gold beads that you can't really see in the sleeves and waistband.

Ok, so I'm on a roll now. Here is my assignment for this week. My first figure illustrated on Illustrator. I just had to use an old drawing as a template, so you probably recognize that dress and pose from below. She probably looks like she has raccoon eyes but I was going for a Twiggy-esque look just because I was experimenting with brushes. I still prefer drawing by hand. I find it more satisfying and under control, but this is fun to do every once in a while.

I don't like how tiny these pictures show up on this. If you want a closer look, just click on it and it should pop up in another window.

My first assignment for Concept 2 was to design a collection for Chico's. This was a bit of a challenge to design for older and more shapely women. The designs themselves weren't anything for me to be excited about. But this was my first experience putting everything on a computer. I also made a concept and flats board, but I'm too lazy to load them on here.

One of my first assignments. Formal wear inspired by a visit to the Art Museum of Portland.

A later assignment. Accessory design. The bottom left picture is my inspiration- soft worn leather.
